Freaks and Geeks

Finished watching the one and only season of Freaks and Geeks. An excellent Judd Apatow produced television series, which included the young actors  James Franco, Jason Segel and Seth Rogen who were only just starting out on their careers in the late 90's. 

Freaks and Geeks Cast

Jason Segel's character Nick Andopolis singing his song Lady L, is one of the many legendary moments in the show.

It is a shame F&G was cancelled after only the one season because of low ratings, these low ratings were mainly due to the network moving it to different days and time slots nearly every week. But the show won many nominations and awards for its short time and has developed a cult following. The 18 episodes that have been created are definitely worth watching.

On The Road; The Movie.

I really cannot wait for On The Road, the film adaptation of one of the greatest pieces of writing of the 20th century.

I've lost count of the amount of times I've read this book and it never fails to inspire me to write. It is one of the most famous works, along with Ginsberg's "Howl", to come from the dubbed 'Beat Generation'. I really hope the film can do it justice. To ask for a perfect adaptation of the book would be unrealistic, however the book has a strong cult following and Kerouac as a writer has devoted readers, if the movie strays in any way that Kerouac would not approved of, I'm sure everyone connected with the movie will feel the backlash.


The casting of Kristen Stewart has raised questions and angered a few fans, but the addition of Viggo Mortensen has definitely been a positive move. The movie also seems to be in good hands with "The Motorcycle Diaries" Walter Salles taking control of the director seat. He is reunited with the screenwriter Josh Rivera, who worked with him on "The Motorcycle Diaries". The cast and crew have a difficult job, but hopefully they can pull it off. Either way, I'll be watching it as soon as it's released.

Electro light and breezy. Like a summer tea party.

Jim Morrison. I don't need another reason really.

His Voice. his voice. hisvoice. In love with it.

You need some folk in summer right?

8. Lounge (Closing Time)- Modest Mouse
This song makes me want to do so many things at once.

For that intro. Wow.

10. Blister In The Sun- Violent Femmes
I dare you to not wanna sing/dance/smile to this song.


11. Kiss Kiss- Yeah Yeah Yeahs
"We're free, We're free in the dark tonighhhht".

12. Dancing Shoes- Arctic Monkeys
Nothing describes nights out better than this song, and indeed album.

13. Don't Look Back Into The Sun- The Libertines
Because it's just good advice.
